Carving through noise and figuring out what really matters
What do you do when you change jobs, and things go well for a while but ultimately the same frustrations show up again and again?
What about when you feel called to change, but don’t know where to start,
Or when life has thrown a curveball at you and you’re thrust into starting again or navigating the unknown.
Sometimes no matter how many times our projects change, the same challenges and road-blocks continue to arise...
If this happens, I like to start with great questions, a pen and paper.
Here are some of my favourites when it comes to carving through the noise and figuring out what really matters.
What really matters to me?
What do I want my life to look like?
What do I want to avoid?
What am I avoiding that I shouldn't be?
What are the three things that are most likely to move me towards my goal?
Once you know these things, it's harder to ignore them. But it's not one and done. It's normal to spend a lot of your time off track. This activity simply helps bring you back.
